Merry (Fake) Christmas!

Seeing as we're leaving for Pennsylvania on Thursday and aren't coming back until well into the New Year and don't feel like carting all our luggage plus Christmas gifts to PA and then unwrapping them and bringing them right back again, we decided to have Fake Christmas this afternoon for Weston. Hooray! Baby's First (fake) Christmas!!

Here's how it went down (thanks to Weston for recalling the play-by-play):

"Okay, so, uh, how does this whole 'Krismiss' dealie go again?"
"Ooooh, me want phone. Want. WANT."
"Hey, little help with the big fella? I'm not so good at opening boxes that are my size."
"Ohhh, now I get it. You press the buttons. What are buttons, exactly? Who cares. Baby brain hurt."
"I love Giraffe. Giraffe is my new favorite."
So, it was a good time for all involved, and it was actually really fun to give Weston a whole bunch of pretty, interesting, brightly-colored toys all at once. I can see why parents spoil their children sometimes. :-) Hopefully these playthings will hold him over until his birthday in February. Then we will wrap up all his birthday gifts (that are currently in plain view in his closet) and officially present them to him as well.

Anyway, we're looking forward to Real Christmas coming along in another week. We'll be in PA and Florida, but I'll try to get on the ol' blog every once in a while so that there isn't too much build-up of cobwebs and tumbleweed. Merry Christmas, everyone! Have a jolly good time!

Cute! And what a good idea. I love how babies are excited about presents whenever and oblivious to the actual date. Makes things so much easier at times like this.

Hey, come visit us while you're in Florida if you can! :) Are you going to Disney World? It seems like you've mentioned it before but it's all a little fuzzy (as are so many other things) as I get more pregnant...

Merry Christmas!

And oh, you should add Holiday Inn to your Christmas movies list. :) That one's my favorite. I love Fred Astaire and Bing Crosby.

I love his hair! That's a great 'do. Enjoy the snow in PA! I hope you guys get in fine. We are driving through PA on our way to VA. We bumped our drive back a day to accommodate the foot of snow that we are supposed to get Friday. Have a great Christmas!

Looks like Weston had a great time and got lots of loot at his fake Christmas.

Seriously, traveling with a baby is difficult enough--no need to add extra baggage with presents too.

Have a great time!
