Top 10 Europe Pictures: Artistic Category Part 1

A charmingly sun-drenched statue in the Vatican Museum. (I love the pose and the fabric. Tim says that fabric is very difficult to adequately capture. Art 101 for Jean.)

The "basement" of the Colosseum, where the animals, supplies, and equipment were stored. This area used to be beneath the sandy floor, until it was unearthed by archaeologists.

The ancient Roman Forum, with the Colosseum in the distance. The Temple of Saturn is in the foreground; this version of it dates to 42 B.C., although it was originally constructed centuries before.

The centerpiece of the Fontana di Trevi. (Note the billowing fabric once again; Tim stopped to draw this one, while I searched the many gelato shops in the piazza for Nutella gelato. I was eventually successful, but not before being repeatedly approached by street vendors trying to sell those annoying buzzing magnets and bubble guns.)

The "warm lozenge of light" (quoth our tourist book) emanating from the dome of the Pantheon.

So who's the photographer? I am 'tres' impressed. 'Tres' like in French, not Spanish. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense. But you probably already figured that out. Shutting up now.

Thanks for letting us know about the blog. I love these pictures! You two are such a cute couple. I especially like the kissing picture. We miss you guys. Maybe one day, if all the stars in heaven align, we'll be in the same ward again. Until then, keep the updates coming.

Hygiene and Tim -- Wow! This is a fantastic method of sharing your life and good times. Now I can live your life vicariously in vivid color photos and snappy dialog. What more can I ask? All one big happy family!

Hi Jean and Tim...from a friend of Jean's Mom...how neat to be able to see you and enjoy your travels through places from my distant past!
(Jean, your Mom never told me you are her clone!)
Anyway, continue to enjoy and post...thanks for the privilege of knowing you both this way.
